LSI

Our Approach

At LSI, you learn from expert academics, study a curriculum built for the work you'll actually do, and get round-the-clock support from AI that adapts to how you learn.

Study where and when it suits you, on a path shaped around your goals, so you graduate ready to lead in the real world, not just to pass exams.

You'll leave with more than knowledge: the judgement to make hard calls, the practice to back it up, and a network of innovation-focused peers and alumni you can call on for years.

Our Approach

Why study at LSI?

Traditional higher education hasn't kept pace with how fast the world is changing. LSI is different: built around technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, and designed to help you thrive in a future shaped by AI.

Specialist in
tech & innovation

As a UK higher education institution dedicated to digital tech, innovation and entrepreneurship, LSI optimises your path to mastery and confidence.

We don't try to be everything to everyone. Our curriculum, our teaching, our faculty and our culture are all built around a single aim: helping you become a capable, well-rounded leader in an AI-augmented world.

Regular
one-to-one support

Instead of one-way lectures, LSI gives students regular one-to-one academic contact, because the hardest parts of learning often need conversation, challenge, reassurance, and judgement.

Studying at postgraduate level is intellectual, but it is also personal. Motivation, confidence, uncertainty, and ambition all matter.

A network of
ambitious peers

You'll study alongside ambitious, curious people. Those relationships rarely end at graduation.

Your peers and the wider LSI alumni network become collaborators, sounding boards, and the contacts who open doors long after you've finished.

AI-enhanced
learning

LSI’s award-winning AI platform acts as a 24/7 learning companion, helping you work through material, test your understanding, receive formative feedback, and identify gaps earlier.

The system provides multimedia explanations, interactive tasks, formative checks, and feedback on your work, while academic staff remain responsible for judgement, standards, and support.

Your learning journey enhanced with AI

LSI's award-winning proprietary technology uses AI to personalise study, give faster formative feedback, and support practice, while human academics focus on discussion, judgement, mentoring, and academic standards.

Virtual
private tutor

This isn’t a chatbot. It’s a tutor that guides you through hands-on learning, at your pace. Read, watch or listen anytime, on your phone during a commute or workout, or on your laptop at 2am before a deadline.

Through text, audio, visual feedback, formative questions, and assignment critique, the tutor helps you keep moving between scheduled sessions with academic staff.

Master

Master
the theory with AI

Every lesson adjusts to your pace and what you already know, so you're never stuck on the obvious or lost in the difficult.

Most subjects don't run in a straight line. Our Interactive Knowledge Graph maps how concepts connect and build on each other, then tracks what you've mastered and what still needs work, so nothing important slips through the cracks.

Instant feedback

Instant feedback
for assignments

Get useful feedback the moment you submit, instead of waiting days to find out where you went wrong, then act on it while the work is still fresh in your mind.

This doesn't replace your tutors or academic judgement. Detailed feedback from faculty can be requested right after AI feedback. What it adds is momentum: you keep moving forward instead of stalling between submission and review.

Role-play

Role-play
with AI

Rehearse the high-stakes moments before they're real. In AI-driven role-play, you make decisions in lifelike professional scenarios and see how they play out, so you build confidence where it's safe to get things wrong.

Judgement comes from practice, not theory alone. You might lead a tense project review, work through an ethical AI dilemma, negotiate a technical trade-off, or troubleshoot a system failure against the clock, each scenario repeatable and tied to what you're learning.

FAQs

AI-native means LSI was built from the ground up with AI at its core, rather than adding AI tools to existing traditional educational models.

  • Virtual AI tutors teach the knowledge, rather than traditional lectures. Available 24/7, they personalise the content for every student based on their level, pace, background, interests (personal and professional), and aspirations to maximise internalisation, student motivation and engagement.

  • Real-time formative assessments with instant AI feedback are built into the learning process for maximum engagement, along with opportunities to escalate reviews by academic staff where required.

  • A comprehensive proprietary operating software with over 150 integrated AI agents power every aspect of the institution's day-to-day ops, including course design, planning, admissions, professional services, student support, compliance, reporting, etc. This provides unparalleled institutional productivity and efficiency.

The role of academic and professional staff at LSI centres around what humans do best, such as connection and one-to-one pastoral and academic support, judgement, empathy, oversight and accountability.

LSI courses are delivered 100% online based on a flipped learning approach. Students engage with theory through LSI's AI-powered Virtual Learning Environment at their own pace, supported by a 24/7 AI virtual tutor to develop their knowledge. The core learning content is provided in various formats, including video, reading mode, audio-only, or dialogue mode, depending on the preferences and personal learning style of every student.

This is then followed by one-to-one time with human professors, online meetings with fellow students for discussions and collaborative problem-solving, and applying knowledge to real-world challenges.

Formative assignments and challenges are integrated into the learning process at every stage, with a diverse range of activities, including traditional quizzes but also AI-powered socratic questioning, self reflections, hands-on assignments, simulations and role-play.

It is designed to join the best of the two worlds for maximum educational attainment: human-touch and comradery, with limitless hyper-personalised, contextualised and dynamic learning content and AI support.

It's absolutely not just AI. Academic staff are central to LSI's model. The difference is in how their time is used.

Instead of delivering traditional lectures, our staff focus on what humans do best: designing the curriculum and course material and keeping it up-to-date, running collaboroative group discussions and problem-solving group sessions, and one-to-one sessions with every student because studying at postgraduate level is intellectual, but it is also personal. Motivation, confidence, uncertainty, and ambition all matter.

Each student has access to a 24/7 AI virtual tutor embedded within the learning platform. During onboarding, during an automated consultation the student’s background, interests and aspirations, personally and professionally, are established and fed to our AI engine alongside the pre-curated course content.

The AI tutor answers questions in a language that resonates, drawing examples and analogies from the student’s interest profile, provides interactive quizzes with immediate feedback, offers formative assessments, critiques assignment work, and communicates effectively.

The system adapts to each student's learning style, identifies skill gaps, and creates optimal learning paths. It delivers content in multiple formats including video and audio to suit different learning preferences.

No. At LSI, AI does not design the courses or curriculum. Programme design, development and approval sit with human academic leadership, with review and approval by roles such as module leaders, programme leaders, external experts and the Academic Board. AI is fully integrated and used among other tools by the academics during the whole process. LSI's multi-stage, continious human-in-the-loop workflow for programme development ensures checks and safeguards throughout every step for upholding academic standards.

LSI's Learning and Teaching Strategy is built on three pillars: innovative programmes, innovative pedagogy, and innovative research, all underpinned by an ambition to use dynamic modern technologies to fundamentally reconceptualise how learning and teaching are delivered. LSI commits to pedagogical excellence, a state-of-the-art curriculum, and a high-quality student experience that produces graduates capable of prospering in AI-enriched environments. Its philosophy emphasises quality, student-centred, personalised instruction supported by AI.

LSI's pedagogic approach uses AI primarily for formative assessment, with weekly formative assessments that generate near-instant AI-driven feedback so that both students and staff can monitor understanding of taught concepts and identify areas needing further support. These formative assessments take the form of interactive quizzes and socratic self-reflections, providing students with clear developmental opportunities and timely feedback. Students also have the option to request academic review of their formative assignments as well as the AI feedback for validation or extra scruitiny.

Importantly, summative assessment continues to follow conventional sector norms, with marking by academic staff, internal and external scrutiny, ratification at Module Examination Boards, and feedback, supported by rubrics, annotated text or audio comments, and access to past papers and model answers.

Every student is allocated a personal academic tutor before induction. Tutors work with the Student Success Team to provide academic guidance, study skills signposting, pastoral and wellbeing support, and career-related support.

Students build cohort identity through various online live video calls, recorded sessions, app-based social features, and online interaction outside live sessions.

Critical IT systems including our award-winning AGS platform and LSI Connect, native mobile app, facilitate not just learning but also student engagement with our academic community.

Personal academic tutors are central to LSI's student support model, allocated before induction and accessible from the very start of the programme, with responsibilities spanning general academic support, personal and professional support, and signposting to specialist services. They work closely with the Student Success Team and programme teams to identify and address individual student needs and choices, escalating concerns where appropriate. Their workload is explicitly protected through the LSI Staff Workload Calculator, which allocates dedicated time for tutoring activities, and they are positioned as a key channel through which curriculum issues surfaced in tutoring conversations can feed back into module and programme reviews.

LSI recruits academic staff who combine subject expertise with the ability to teach effectively in a flipped, technology-mediated, AI-augmented environment, prioritising candidates with doctoral qualifications and recent publications in both pedagogy and discipline-specific research. Recruitment uses a rigorous process that goes beyond interviews: candidates complete a 60-minute teaching scenario exercise demonstrating how they would design a flipped-learning lesson, embed assessment and feedback, and incorporate collaborative work, and are also tested on their ability to use AI effectively and appropriately.
