About
Dr Vimal Dwivedi, Adjunct Associate Professor at the London School of Innovation, works across blockchain, digital twins and trustworthy AI. His research has examined the formal verification of smart-contract languages, the automatic generation of smart contracts and the use of ontological semantics to represent legally binding relationships. This combination of computer science and legal technology brings particular relevance to questions of how automated systems can be made dependable, transparent and accountable.
Vimal is a Lecturer in Data Analytics at Ulster University and Associate Director of its Centre of Legal Technology. He previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Queen’s University Belfast and held research and academic positions at the University of Tartu and Tallinn University of Technology.
His wider interests include agentic AI, digital identity and distributed ledger technology, supported by earlier work with the Qtum Foundation. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Tallinn University of Technology and postgraduate training from India’s Centre for Development of Advanced Computing.
